Company profile
Founded in 1945, "Luk Kee Noodle" has attracted many customers and well-known food critics. It is also a favorite night restaurant for Macau locals.
The founder, Mr. Li Liu, opened a "Liu" food stall in the 1940s in the area of Patane in Macau, selling handmade bamboo-pressed noodles. In 1966, he moved into the new street by the sea, and named his stall "Liu Noodles". In 1970, it was settled in Renmu Alley, Patane, and has been opening for business for more than 70 years. Now, in addition to selling noodles, there are more than 60 food for sale, so the shop sign was changed to "Luk Kee Noodle".
"Liu Porridge & Noodles" is known for its wonton noodles, shrimp noodles and water crab porridge far and near well-known. It was recommended by Michelin for nine consecutive years. Its most famous product hand-made bamboo-pressed noodle is very time-demanding and labor-efficient. Few people now know how to make the noodle. Mr. Li Mingjia, the second-generation shopkeeper, said that the process of pressing dough each time takes more than 3 hours, and the biggest feature of hand-pressed dough with bamboo poles is that it can make the dough's alkaline water taste less, and the noodles have strong taste of chew.
Though hidden in a corner street, "Liu porridge & noodles" has attracted a large number of tourists with its authentic taste and good price.
